Created in 2024, this piece explores the quiet weight of stillness on open water - the moment just after movement settles, when light rests flat on the surface and everything seems to hold its breath. Built up through many thin layers of transparent oil glaze, the painting captures that particular calm the way it actually feels to stand at the water's edge and watch nothing happen.
This is an original oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas. The sides of the canvas are painted as an extension of the painting, and the piece is varnished with a UV protective coating prior to shipping. Arrives ready to hang.
