"When the Clay Turns Cold" series. The golden hour arises at the boundary between presence and disappearance. Light gains a particular depth at the very moment it begins to fade, as though the finite nature of the moment allows its true value to be seen for the first time.
The work reflects on the human tendency to recognise beauty only when it can no longer be held. The ordinary is transformed not because the objects themselves have changed, but because our perception of them has shifted: the approach of darkness makes every illuminated surface temporary and therefore especially meaningful.
The Golden Hour is not merely an image of the fading day, but a meditation on attention and finitude. Everything present in our lives will one day be illuminated for the last time.
