"When I was working on this piece, I was trying to hold onto the feelings from a laid-back day on the lake. I remember watching the sunlight dance on the water and feeling the rhythm of the gentle waves as the sun began to set. My goal was to keep the painting as real and soothing as the warm sun and the calm water were to me."
Original oil paintings are created on gallery wrapped canvas, using many thin layers of oil paint for depth and luminosity. The sides of the canvas are painted as an extension of the painting, and each piece is varnished with a UV protective coating prior to shipping, arriving ready to hang.
Part of an ongoing body of water-and-light paintings, with related works placed in healthcare and hospitality spaces nationally, including Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, and Delta Airlines' Sky Club at LAX.
