Rythmes croisés is an original geometric abstract painting by French contemporary artist Sophie Dumont.
Large curves, arches and angular structures intersect across the composition, creating a strong sense of rhythm and movement. Deep burgundy, terracotta and black contrast with ochre, olive green, soft pink and warm cream, while the shifting scale of the forms gives the painting its architectural presence.
Built through successive layers of oil paint, the surface retains scraped passages, irregular contours and subtle traces of earlier colors.
